History
INTRODUCTION

Our faculty was established by the Council of Ministers Decision dated 07.07.1992 and numbered 3837, published in the Official Gazette dated 11 July 1992 and numbered 21281. Following its establishment in 1992, within the framework of a protocol signed with the Ministry of Health, it was decided to allocate a part of the State Hospital to the Faculty of Medicine to be used as a Research and Practice Hospital for student education. Our Faculty, which started education and training with 20 students in 1995, had its first graduates in 2001. In 2007, the polyclinic building in Yenisehir Campus was put into service as an additional building. On 15.02.2016, the new Research and Application Hospital in Osmanbey Campus was put into service.
In the 2020 - 2021 academic year, 949 students, 44 of whom are foreign nationals, are studying in our faculty. Our faculty has so far given 858 medical graduates, each of whom we are proud of. In the 2020 - 2021 academic year, 154 of our students will choose our faculty with the exam held by OSYM and gain the privilege of being a student at Harran University Faculty of Medicine and continue their education life successfully.
 
CAMPUS
Our Faculty of Medicine is located in the Osmanbey Campus of our University. Training is provided in two separate buildings, namely the Morphology Building and the Research and Application Hospital. In our morphology building, which has an indoor area of ​​18,000 square meters, there are lecture halls, canteen, dining hall, study halls and laboratories. Our modern Research and Application Hospital, equipped with the latest technology, has a bed capacity of 684.
Preclinical Period I, II, III educational activities are held in the Morphology Building of the Faculty of Medicine. Period IV, V, VI trainings take place mainly in Harran University Research and Application Hospitals.
 
EDUCATION AT OUR FACULTY
An integrated education system is implemented in our faculty, and education is provided in the form of course committees in the first three grades. While clinical internships are given in the 4th and 5th grades, internship training (applied medicine education) is given in the 6th grade. In the first 2 years of our training program, the normal structure and functioning of the human body, and in the 3rd year, the disorders of this structure and functions are integrated. In the 4th and 5th grades, diseases, diagnosis, and treatment methods are taught during internship periods. The 6th grade is the Intern Doctorate period and aims to develop the practical applications of medicine. Our course programs have been arranged to cover the Core Education Program created by the Medical Health Sciences Education Council of Turkey. In addition, our course credits and passing grades are compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS, ECTS).
In addition to the theoretical courses given in the lecture halls of our faculty, practical training is provided in our modern laboratories. Practical training for students in our faculty in semester I, II and III is given in Multidisciplinary, Basic Medical Skills, Anatomy, Molecular Genetics, Medical Genetics, Medical Physiology, Biophysics, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology Laboratories.
